The Nike Air Foamposite One “Wheat” debuts tomorrow, October 18th, 2014. The shoe should highlight an interesting weekend, one that has some competition thanks to a new Kobe 9 Elite for that top spot as the most coveted sneaker of this Saturday. The Wheat Foamposites are one of many Nike silhouettes to be inspired by that whole Timberland aesthetic this fall season, yet at a time when it seems more fashionable than ever to transform your favorite model into a sneakerboot, the Foamposite has sat this one out. Instead, it gets an updated NSW treatment with Haystack suede while a gum bottom and updated boot-inspired eyelets and laces add to the overall aesthetic. Are you feeling this release?
This is the Nike Air Foamposite One PRM “Wheat” which features a mostly haystack and track brown color way. This is the second Foamposite model to feature suede as the exterior over the Foam. The Foamposite material was the revolutionary space age technology Nike introduced in 1997 and there have been very few innovations to it. The molded Foam covered with vacuumed PVC plastic has been consistent on the shoes since their introduction. In 2012 the Galaxy edition introduced printed designs on the PVC plastic and since the patterned Foam uppers have been the trend. These “Wheat Foams” feature the same molded Foam upper except it sports a suede outer layer unlike any other Foamposite models. The color and details on this model are quite unique because they draw inspiration from the very popular construction style Timberland boots. “Timbs” are most popular in the “Wheat Nubuck” color with dark brown leather accent, gum rubber sole, and metal eyelits. Be sure to add this special pair of Foams to your Nike Basketball collection.
